Carnivorous plants appear adapted to grow in places where the soil is thin or poor in nutrients, especially nitrogen, such as acidic bogs and rock outcroppings. Charles Darwin wrote Insectivorous Plants, the first well-known treatise on carnivorous plants, in 1875. They come in a large variety of shapes and mechanics, be that of vivid colors or appealing odors, all carnivorous plants share one common goal attract the prey. I can’t say if a carnivorous plant can scare me, because I only saw them in pictures… and they look wonderful. Enjoy.
